| Message from Pastor Lin: 林牧師的話 (中文) | |

Praise the Lord! I received Jesus Christ in EFC Irvine,
and was called by the Lord to attend Talbot school of Theology to equip myself for God’s work.
Looking back in the past 16 years, I was blessed abundantly. My living God, turned a “Wu”
(Chinese: Nothing) to my “Friend” (Chinese: Friend), for Pastor Samuel “Wu” introduced me to Jesus Christ,
and helped me become a close friend of Jesus! I feel so blessed to be involved in Community outreach, Christian education, and Children’s ministry. The goal of a church is as our Lord Jesus, “to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). Our hope is that EFC Education Center will continue to be salt and light in the Irvine region, and complete the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ: “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.” (John 10:16). |

The congregation at EFC is “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God.” (1 Peter 2:9). We are here to declare the One who helped us walk in the light, away from darkness. God’s Holy Word is our daily guide, as Psalms 119:105 says, “Your light is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” May the Christian education build up the congregation, so that they may be “filled with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And that they may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:9-10) We hope to nurture a faithful young generation. In order to build tomorrow’s churches, we need to begin with today’s children. Children’s Ministry requires long term investment and dedication. Praise God we have God-loving brothers and sister who follow God’s teaching. “Training them in the way they should go, so that when they grow old, they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). “Love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, and strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7). They serve faithfully and humbly, and though the effects are not immediate, they invest in heaven with the greatest return. When we are investing in children, we invest in “God’s heritage.” (Psalms 127:3) Now is the time to equip parents to lead their children to follow God, and to build values for a lifetime. This is also time to equip our children to become tomorrow’s spiritual leaders. May we seek the truth together, teach God’s Word, spread the gospel, and glorify God and man! May the work of our hands be effective through God’s anointing. May the Lord bless our homes, because we give cheerfully. May Christian homes be built, God’s values be taught, and God’s kingdom be enlarged, so that we live on earth as we do in heaven ~ filled with God’s joy and peace. |

About Pastor Lin: Growing up in a Buddhist and Taoism family, Pastor Lin came to the U.S. to pursue graduate studies and accepted Jesus Christ. In 1993, she was baptized by Pastor Samuel Wu, and the following year attended Talbot School of Theology to be equipped by the Lord. In 1999, she graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree and served in EFC Irvine until now. She is in charge of Christian Education, Center, and Children’s Ministry. She began part-time study of Ph.D. in Educational Studies at Talbot School of Theology in 2007. September 2009 to May 2010 she will take a sabbathical to concentrate on completing her course work studies, and plans in the next 3 years to serve in the church, prepare for her doctorate candidacy exam and complete her thesis. |
